@sadekmohammedabdelsadek
Sadek Mohammed, 15 years old, from Egypt. I am passionate about stuff talking about tech and I would like to spread knowledge for tach all over the world for all Communities. Especially, students with deaf-blindeness syndrome.
What is that idea of our project?
Special Needs
There are many types of item needs, where some of them are due to mental, physical or medical issues. Those problems cause problems for people during their typical life, where many of them don't even live a typical life like us. Take blind people as example. They suffer an extreme inability to see; however, this is compensated by their powerful ears and intelligent minds, which helps them to learn braille. Another good example is deaf people, where they can't hear at all. However, they have the ability to see very well and that helps them to use sign language.
DeafvsBlind
Deaf-Blindness Syndrome
It is obvious, after reviewing the above examples, that deaf people and blind people suffer too much during their daily life, but they have traditional and great ways to handle their life. Although this is horrible, the more horrible is imagining people, who have deafness and blindness at the same time. You may think that those are a small number, but the problem affects 0.2% (15 million) of humans and their families. They may use braille to read and use braille keybords to type.
Deaf-Blindness
Our Project
Our project is mainly a tool or utility that can be attached to a smartphone or a computer in order to translate incoming video and audio calls or videos into braille. That device also helps people implement information into devices as it has an input part. That device uses algorithms to convert voice into text using Ai and then store text on the device, optionally on a cloud storage. That text is then converted into braille and viewed to the user using the refreshable braille cells, where that device is made as portable as possible. That device aims to facilitate the communication and connection between deaf-blind people and the world, which makes the deaf-blind people undifferentiated and with unleashed power.
